Implantatie in de kaak na horizontale botopbouw en sinuslift (Engelstalig)
In deze video demonstreert prof. Dr. Christian Mehl, München, de plaatsing van zeven implantaten in de kaak en de gingiva versterking met bindweefseltransplantaten. Vier maanden voor de behandeling was het bot in de kaak horizontaal vermeerderd en werd aan beide kanten een sinuslift uitgevoerd.

Creatie van flappen
De tweede behandeling, die in deze video wordt getoond, begint met de creatie van flappen van volle dikte om het bot bloot te leggen. Het materiaal dat het bot heeft vervangen is meestal nog zichtbaar, wat normaal gesproken voor meerdere jaren het geval is.
Implantaatpositie
Er wordt getoond hoe de implantaatposities worden bepaald en hoe deze vervolgens worden geplaatst. Ook wordt getoond hoe het bot rond de implantaten voorzichtig wordt verminderd om zo te zorgen dat het tandvlees zich beter aan kan passen aan de implantaten. Ook worden bindweefseltransplantaten genomen van het palatale gebied, en toegevoegd aan het vestibulaire voorste kaakgebied om het tandvlees te versterken. Tenslotte worden de flappen vastgezet met dubbele slingersteken. Hierbij zijn gaten tussen de randen van de wond niet problematisch – deze zullen langzaamaan zelf dicht gaan in het genezingsproces.
