It is with great pleasure that we prepare to welcome you all to Paris in 2022 !
SOSS (Santé Orale et Soins Spécifiques) (French Association for Disability and Oral Health) is delighted to have been selected to organise the 26th iADH international conference. We regret that the world situation prevented us from all meeting up in Acapulco in 2020 but we hope that this loss will only increase the pleasure of our reunion in 2022!
The 2022 Paris organising committee has been working hard over the last two years to ensure the success of the conference. The different committees are dynamic and active, and are gaining members and momentum as the event draws closer. We aim to pay particular attention to the quality of the scientific presentations and to present as a wide a perspective as possible of all facets of special care dentistry. We hold dear the full involvement of the persons concerned by our discipline. One of the specificities of SOSS is that our association is made up of persons with disability and their representatives, alongside dental and medico-social professionals. We are particularly attached to this structure and hope to carry this ethos over to the iADH conference.
The choice of theme for our event evolved naturally from this context: Quality matters – ensuring equitable health outcomes. The rights of vulnerable populations to achieve an equitable standard of oral health are increasingly enshrined and we hope to showcase examples of best practice and scientific evidence to make this premise a reality worldwide.
Many of you have already visited France and Paris but we hope that all will take great pleasure in discovering or rediscovering the delights of this magical city! The conference will be held in the vicinity of the Eiffel Tower, in the epicentre of Paris. The conference will run from Tuesday to Friday in order to leave the weekend free for those of you who wish to take the time appreciate the French ‘savoir-vivre’ following a busy and happy conference schedule, rich in exchange and in learning.
