Implantatie in de kaak na groei van autologe botblokken (Engelstalig)
In deze video demonstreert prof. Dr. Christian Mehl, München, hoe vier implantaten worden geplaatst in het achterste gebied van de kaak. In het voorste gebied wordt een bindweefseltransplantaat geplaatst om het tandvlees te versterken. De operatie wordt vier maanden na de vermeerdering van autologe botten in de kaak uitgevoerd.

Implantaten plaatsen
Ten eerste wordt getoond hoe de implantaten worden geplaatst. Hierbij wordt extra aandacht besteed aan hoe het best met het bot kan worden omgegaan, om het zo min mogelijk te beschadigen. Met name in het gebied met aangegroeid bot is het namelijk van belang om geen druk of spanning uit te oefenen om de stabiliteit van de nieuwe botstructuur niet te beschadigen.
Vermijden
Dr. Mehl benadrukt meerdere malen dat oververhitting, druk of spanning moet worden vermeden omdat deze de botten zullen beschadigen en kunnen zorgen dat de behandeling zal falen.
Vervolgens wordt getoond hoe de plaatsing van de implantaten wordt afgerond, en wordt getoond hoe bindweefsel wordt geplaatst in het voorste gedeelte van de kaak om zo het tandvlees dikker te maken. Op deze manier wordt het rustgebied voor de nieuwe prothese groter en kunnen de implantaten zich beter hechten, waarnaast deze beter kunnen worden schoongemaakt door de patiënt.
